Whisper Gill, Breaday Gill and Folly Gill are our three beautiful cottages in Silpho, near Scarborough.  Lovingly converted from traditional stone farm buildings using environmentally conscious materials, each cottage suite offers comfort, style, the luxury of space and a welcome escape from the stresses of everyday life.  Our goal was to revitalise these lovely buildings in a gentle and respectful way.

Original beams sit above polished concrete, underfloor-heated floors.  The walls have been re-pointed with traditional lime mortar, which absorbs CO2 as it cures and the door and windows are now high performance timber units.  Insulation includes wood fibre, hemp and sheepswool – to keep you warm (and cool) and the carbon footprint low.  All of the heating and hot water is provided by our biomass district heating system which also uses zero-carbon solar thermal.
